The First Aid Oz HLTAID009 CPR Course is for those who already possess their First Aid and CPR qualifications, where there is a requirement to update the CPR component every 12 months.

The CPR unit HLTAID009- Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation covers the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

We run our Online CPR course Australia wide, allowing people in isolated and remote areas, or those who are incapacitated or disadvantaged in any way, access to quality First Aid Training.

The First Aid Oz  CPR Refresher course allows the student to view videos, read learning materials and complete assessment quiz from home, prior to coming in for practical training and assessment. Its the perfect format for those who are time poor, and can be done without taking a day off work.

This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide basic life support in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

    In this unit, students will learn to :

    1. Respond to an emergency situation

    Recognise and assess an emergency situation.

    Ensure safety for self, bystanders and casualty.

    Assess the casualty and recognise the need for cardiopulmonary resuscitation

    Seek assistance from emergency response services

    2. Perform CPR procedures

    Perform CPR in accordance with ARC guidelines

    Display respectful behaviour towards casualty

    Operate automated external defibrillator (AED) according to manufacturer’s instructions

    3. Communicate details of the incident

    Accurately convey incident details to emergency response services

    Report details of incident in line with appropriate workplace or site procedures.

    Maintain confidentiality of records and information in line with statutory or organizational policies

    4. Review the incident.

    Recognise the possible psychological impacts on self and other rescuers and seek help when required.

    Contribute to a review of the first aid response as required.
